April 15, 2005 - Delta Tween C Team Captures Silver
The Delta Tween C team come on fire in the "C" Provincial Championships in Surrey and blazed their way to a Silver medal. After finishing third in league play, few predicted they would go far in the Provincials.
To help even the odds, coach Lawrence Harned took his team to play in the "B" division at the highly competitive Kelowna Sweetheart tournament in February. Applying this experience at the Provincial Championships, the Delta Tween C team first knocked out the top two league teams, Coquitlam and Burnaby, and moved on to defeat Houston in the semi-final. Final victory eluded this hardworking team in the gold medal game, losing in a close battle to an excellent team from Quesnel. Coaches Harned and Peter Noah were very proud of this hardworking team and the girls were elated to have performed so well in this competitive tournament. Delta Ringette is proud of the team and extends congratulations to the coaching staff, athletes, and parents.
March 19, 2005 - Delta Leads LMRL in League Championships
Delta Ringette Association teams have scored big by securing the league championships in three tough divisions. All three championship titles came in "A" division play where you'll find the toughest and most skilled competition in ringette in the province. Coaches Harold Bakke, Alain Beauchamp, and Nicole Castor led their Novice A, Junior A, and Belle A teams, respectively, to convincing wins in each division. Beauchamp and Castor went on to lead the Junior and Belle teams to silver and gold medals, respectively, at the 2005 BCRA "A" Provincial Championships.
The Delta Ringette Association would like to congratulate the athletes and staff for their success in the sport while representing Delta with true sportsmanship. Delta Ringette would also like to thank all athletes, team staff, officials, parents and volunteers who have worked hard to make this season the best ever for our association. Let's all work to make the upcoming season even better!

March 14, 2005 - Delta's "A" Provincal Championships Huge Success
The 2005 BCRA "A" Provincial Championships held March 10-13 at the Great Pacific Forum in Delta were a huge success. Hosted by the BC Reign with plenty of support from the great volunteers of Delta Ringette, the event was fun and exciting for the 35 "A" teams from the Petite through Open divisions that attended from around the province.

The Petite "A" team coached by Terry Floberg placed just out of the medal round. Congratulations to Delta's "A" teams for their fine effort and thanks to the many volunteers from Delta Ringette that stepped forward to make this event a success. A special thank you to Bev White for the great job of coordinating the tournament volunteers.
February 21, 2005 - Belle A Win Hearts at Sweetheart
(Article by Robin Masters)
The Delta Belle A team is preparing for the upcoming provincial championships in the best way it can…by winning. After a disappointing West Coast Classic tournament in January where they were eliminated in the semi-final, the Belles won the prestigious Kelowna Sweetheart Tournament, showing great character in doing so. The team went undefeated through the round-robin portion of the tourney, easily defeating Prince George and then settling in to take Northwest Vancouver and Kelowna in fast, physical games. Delta outscored it’s opposition 15 -3 in those three games, due in great part to the outstanding play of the defence, Sheena Mensing, Aynsleah Mensing, Caitlin Barrows, and Katie Ross and their goaltender Gabrielle Descoteaux. In the semi-final, Delta played its archrival Richmond, and quickly fell behind 4-0. Paced and inspired by the performance of Eryn Floer, the Belles clawed their way back during the second period and eventually defeated Richmond 6-5. Relentless pressure from forwards Rudi Krawchuk and Brandi Lietz kept up the attack on the Richmond defence throughout the game. Outstanding fore-checking and a commitment to team defence by forwards Katie Doolan, Kailey Floberg, Jacquie Hamlin and Emily Masters and some timely goals from Chelsea Mason balanced the team throughout the tournament.
In the final game, Delta played a tough, fast and physical Medicine Hat team, winners of the Golden Ring Belle A division, that had yet to lose a game this season. During the first five minutes It looked as though Delta had run up against an opponent they couldn’t beat as Medicine Hat buzzed all over the ice and looked to dominate the entire game. Delta fought back and, led by a five goal performance by Eryn Floer and crucial goals by Krawchuk and Lietz, defeated Medicine Hat by a score of 8-6. Head Coach Nicole Castor and assistants, Carmen Castor, Richard Barrows, and Stephen Krawchuk were impressed by the way the Delta Belles had played as a team and by the character they had demonstrated during the final round.
